We make your stay one to remember

Set high on a ridge overlooking the sparkling waters of the beautiful Bay of Islands in the sub-tropical far north of New Zealand, nestles Clanaboy Bed and Breakfast. This noted example of Kiwi hospitality sits above a magnificent panorama of native bush, green hills, farmland and inlet waters. Native and exotic bird life can be heard chorusing the dawn while unparalleled sunsets are captured from the high-line decking as sleepy days give way to warm summer nights.

Clanaboy B&B is all about peace and quiet but is not too secluded to facilitate easy access to the main attractions of the Bay of Islands or its myriad of walking tracks. We are a short drive to Paihia village, Waitangi Treaty House and the historic township of Russell; in fact the car ferry from Opua to Russell is situated less than two minutes down the road.

To truly enjoy the Bay of Islands and the Far North a stay of three nights is ideal. We offer a tour booking service and are happy to share our knowledge of the area. We’ve lived in this piece of paradise for a number of years and all our recommendations are delivered from first-hand experience. We facilitate pick-ups for sightseeing tours plus, for those travelling to Cape Reinga by bus, a 6.30am full breakfast and shuttle to the connection point on Opua Hill.

Ideally we delight in entertaining two couples at any one time, including the opportunity for dinner by arrangement (inclusive of local wines). There is of course a variety of restaurants, snack bars and cafes to suit any palate nearby or at Paihia, should you wish to drag yourself away from Clanaboy after a hard day of touring or relaxing!

Both accommodation areas are very spacious, comfortable and self-contained, complete with own decking and outdoor furniture. We realise modern living does have some benefits so satellite TV and WIFI is also available, should you want to ruffle the tranquillity.

Your hosts, Allan and Lyndsay await your pleasure.
